Dr. Bernie Mullin

Founder & Chairman

Dr. Bernie Mullin is a world leading expert in the highly competitive Sport and Entertainment industry, having built several very successful new major, and minor league franchises and turned around existing Clubs and Athletic Departments. A globally acclaimed speaker, Podcaster, author, and humanitarian, he literally wrote the best-selling book on Sport Marketing. His expertise lies in incisive market and customer analysis, building fan communities, and cutting-edge marketing and promotional campaigns to engage consumers at the highest level.


He served as CEO of NBA and NHL teams; and CMO of the NBA where he built the globally adopted “Best-Practices” unit. He operated in the C Suite at several MLB teams and an IHL Club, where he and his team have a history of creating All-Time Revenue and Attendance Records. His own agency, The Aspire Marketing Group generated in excess of $1.5 Billion in new and enhanced revenues for top global brands including the NFL, NBA, MLB; NHL and several of their Clubs; Power Five and Mid Major Collegiate Athletic programs; US Open Tennis; the Open Golf; and LIV Golf. Aspire aided iconic sport sponsorship brands Coca Cola and Allianz and procured funding for The Vatican initiative on Sport at the Service of Humanity.

Dr Mullin has a PhD Business, MBA and an MS Marketing from the University of Kansas and a BA Business Studies and Honorary DBA from the University of Coventry, in recognition of his contributions to the industry.


Dr B has served on the Boards of the United Way; YMCA; Make a Wish; Sports Councils and Visitor and Convention Bureaus in most of the Cities where he has lived. He recently Founded The Aspire Difference Foundation (TADF) focused on supporting single-parents with pre-school children. All proceeds from his consulting, Podcasts and books, net of direct expenses, go to support TADF.

Amanda Weiser holds the positions of President and Executive Director at The Aspire Difference Foundation, where she oversees all aspects of the Foundation and especially its fund-raising Gala events.

Previously she held the position of Senior Executive Assistant for The Aspire Group where she handled TADF Founder, Dr Bernie Mullin’s work as Founder and Chairman of a global leading Sport Marketing agency. After graduating from Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and Sociology, Ms. Weiser started her career with Delta Airlines in the VIP Customer Service division. She then transitioned to private medical research focusing on mental health protocols and awareness with major pharmaceutical companies in both the US and Europe. Amanda resides in Atlanta with her two sons.

Dr. Diana Garrett

She earned a bachelor’s in public relations at the University of Florida and a master’s in organizational communication at Barry University in Miami Florida. While in graduate school, she conducted research on intercultural communication issues for Black women in corporate America and on the motivating factors for employees in the profit and nonprofit sectors using organizational communication paradigms. In 2017, Dr. Garrett earned her Doctorate from Barry University. Her current areas of research for publication include strategies for creating shared identity spaces on university campuses and implementing culturally responsive pedagogies within foundational communication courses.
Prior to joining GSU, Dr. Garrett served as the Dean of Academic Affairs for Miami Dade College, (MDC) which is the largest institution of higher education in the country offering more than 300 educational pathways to a career for over 165,000 students.
Dr. Garrett is also a proud member of The Links, Incorporated and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. She and her husband reside in Atlanta.

She clerked for Judge Catherine Lemon from 2006-2007 and then entered the DA’s office. She has been a Prosecutor for 16 years and prosecuted homicides, human trafficking, sex crimes against children, felony child abuse and domestic violence and sexual assault cases. For the last six years, Lara was the Chief of the Human Trafficking unit which is a team of seven that prosecutes both sex and labor trafficking cases. She has trained law enforcement and community organizations throughout the country on the indicators of human trafficking and assisted with the development of response protocols in the Denver medical community and within the Denver Sheriff’s Department. Lara was instrumental in drafting and generating bi-partisan support for two important pieces of human trafficking legislation in 2018 – a safe harbor bill providing immunity to juvenile victims of trafficking and a wage theft bill to assist in combating labor trafficking. Lara is an expert consultant for NW3C (National White Collar Crime Center) and assisted in the creation of a Human Trafficking Prevention Curriculum for schools nationwide. She also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Sturm College of Law.

Having established a branch of the Sports for Peace Foundation, Ditchfield works with orphans of the 1994 Rwandan genocide and promotes the efforts of the SonRise School. He also works with the international Nobel Laureate group PeaceJam, and is a consultant to the Born To Be Free Foundation and the Mandela Soccer Academy in Ghana. Additionally, Ditchfield serves as advisor to The Aspire Group, a global sports and entertainment firm that provides strategic expertise and resources to individuals, business, and sports teams. Ditchfield was instrumental to incorporating sports into Project Mercy’s work in Ethiopia, and served as President of the Sixteenth of May Foundation, which helped rebuild villages in South Sudan. Additionally, he participated in the Save Darfur campaign, speaking at the Olympic torch ceremony as the Team Darfur representative for athletes worldwide. Ditchfield graduated from the University of Bradford before he relocated to the United States, completing graduate coursework while coaching at Pennsylvania State University. He resides in Denver, Colorado, where he served as Board President of the Colorado Coalition for Genocide Awareness and Action. Ditchfield remains dedicated to transforming lives by advocating for human dignity and decency across the globe.

Realizing the abundance of opportunity for a responsible developer in the metropolitan Atlanta area, Mr. Vari entered the commercial real estate sector in 1987.  Using the interpersonal and negotiation skills honed in his previous career, Mr. Vari has skillfully balanced development negotiations among neighborhoods, planning and zoning boards, task forces, attorneys and governmental bodies, to assure the best outcome for all parties in difficult developmental and approval processes.

He joined Jacoby Development, Inc. in 1991, where he has been directly instrumental in the development of more than twenty Super Wal*Marts and shadow-anchored centers in both metropolitan Atlanta and the state of Georgia.  In addition, he has developed centers anchored by Kroger, Publix, Ingles, Food Lion, Sams Club, Lowe’s and Kohl’s.  He was a key member of the team that acquired, remediated, and redeveloped Jacoby’s nationally acclaimed Atlantic Station, a former steel mill.

Mr. Vari’s most recent projects have involved the redevelopment of under-utilized or closed industrial sites in the metro Atlanta area.  Mr. Vari was instrumental in the development of a plan that culminated in Jacoby’s acquisition of the shuttered Ford Assembly plant adjacent to the world’s busiest airport, Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International.  Redevelopment of the site into a mixed-use “Aerotropolis” is underway, spearheaded by its centerpiece, Porsche’s North American Headquarters and Customer Experience Center which opened in early 2015. Planned future additions to the site include hotel and retail properties as well as Class A office space.

Currently, Mr. Vari is a Principal in the development of Celebration Village, Forsyth, and the Reserve at Celebration Village, an age in place community featuring independent, assisted, and memory care apartment living plus a gated 75 home community for active adult living. The development also features a retail component anchored by a Lidl Supermarket.

In addition to development, Mr. Vari navigated the assemblage and selling of one of the largest residential transactions in North Metro Atlanta in 2013.

Mr. Vari was a key member of the team which developed Atlanta’s International Rugby Venue.  The complex, located on I-285, hosts International and National fixtures leading up to the 2020 Olympic Games.

Mr. Vari is active in numerous organizations, including the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Florida State University Alumni Association, Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity Alumni Association, Atlanta Seminole Boosters and Leadership Atlanta.  He serves on the governing boards of the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau, The Atlanta Rugby Foundation, Inc. the Atlanta Old White Rugby Club, and the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
